It definitely feels like Spring is here and I'm 100% loving it. To be honest, Fall has always been my favorite season, but lately I've been almost giddy for Spring! Something about the weather and colors just makes me so happy. I've been playing with color more and more and I'm getting HOOKED- I can't stop. It definitely was scary at first, but I've found my groove and now I can't stop. I'm sharing my tips on how to experiment with color! One thing I realized helped me start playing with color is staying on the same side on of color spectrum: (pinks/ reds, blues/ greens). I try to mix it up, but this is more of my preference and one that I found works well with me. If I’m color blocking, I like picking two shades that compliment each other well or a few different shades of one color if I’m mono-chroming. Working with such vibrant colors, I use a contrast color such as black or white, so my other pieces can really stand out! I feel this works better when there's multiple pieces in the look, like I'm wearing here. If it's just a top and bottom, I tend to wear a neutral color shoe or boot. My biggest piece of advice on experimenting with color is thrifting and sale hunting! My usual wardrobe has a lot of neutrals and darker items so it’s sometimes hard to justify a vibrant, pricey piece. My trick is I hunt for my colorful pieces in the sale section or even better, thrift stores! Vintage items have gorgeous colors that aren’t made anymore or very difficult find in stores. This coat, for example, is a vintage Barney’s coat in this gorgeous powder blue and was a whopping $15 dollars. Thanks Savers!! This has been my one of my absolute favorite looks thus far. I felt so confident and ready to take on anything in my baby blue coat! Hopefully these tips help you add some color into your closet for Spring and Summer! xx Gabs
