Happy Friday Jr.! Good things are already happening and January isn't even over yet. Something that I'm very excited for in the year is... My new job!!! I don't talk about my day job often on my blog, other than I'm happy when I'm home spending time with my two favorite guys. As of next week, ya girl is the new office manager for a fashion company! This is a huge step for me in terms of my career and I'm so excited to be in the (corporate) fashion world!!
With that big news, I wanted my first 2018 post to be about office wear. A girlfriend of mine just got her real estate license (yay you go Em!) and asked me about office style. It took me a bit but I'm finally finding my groove without passing a line and I'm here to share!
First things first, there's a fine line of what's appropriate and what's better left for the weekend in an office environment. It's great finding a piece I can wear year round and especially to the office! I'm a huge fan of versatile pieces and always gravitate towards them.
An easy rule of thumb I follow, always safer to cover up than show more skin. Don't get me wrong, I wear cute dresses and skirts to work all the time but I make sure they're not shorter than where my fingertips land with my arms down. I learned that neat trick in grade school like the rest of the world, haha.
I hated having to put away all of my cute dresses during winter. It's been so chilly out here in the bay area and layering has been my savior. I love adding a turtle neck or even just a tee under a dress to either make it appropriate or warmer... or both!
I feel like I always have to add black to my outfits, out of comfort and well, I love black! It helps that the dress has black stripes to tie it all together too. My favorite part of this look is the warm mustard color and the white lines though- perfect for any season. Last but not least, throwing on some denim to any outfit is never a bad idea in my opinion!
On the weekend, I love with slits and cut outs but not so much in the office. I try to bring in as much color and print as I can but I don't care to wear a dress with a high slit to work. For this dress, I simply safety pin the slit a couple of inches lower so it's still there but not in an inappropriate way.
How many of you ladies work in an office? I'm considering doing a small series on office apparel and would love to know if you guys care for that! Going to work is well, going to work but at least you can look cute while you're there!
Let ya girl know!
Hey everyone! Winter is officially here and so is the cold! I have to say I actually do enjoy the cooler weather and getting bundled up but sometimes it outstays its welcome (typical FL girl). There's so many great jackets and coats out this season and it can be hard picking just one to wear... so why not wear two?? I'm talking about coats, jackets, and how to wear them at the same time!
Happy holiday season everyone! I seriously cannot believe it's already December and almost mid December, at that! I don't know if it's just me or what but this year FLEW by- like 2018 is in 3 weeks... Wow. Mike and I are going to Utah for a week and I'm SO excited to visit our fam and friends. I can't wait for those gorgeous mountains and the worlds best snow!
Well with the year ending, everyone has a party or two to attend wether it's family, friends, or a company event. Figuring out what to wear just adds on to the holiday stress, amiright?! No one has time for that, so here I am for ya! These are two looks I've been dying to show you guys!
