What I do when my skin is freaking out

We’ve all been there where our face decides it wants a party and invites all these pimples to join… like no, thank you. This usually happens to me if I’m not properly taking care of my skin, when I’m way stressed out, or when I travel.

After summer travels and the weather heating up, my skin was not having it. I started breaking out in every area of my face and the stress of breaking out made it worse. So, I’m here to share my quick remedy tips on what to do when your face freaks out!

  1. Use clean, natural ingredients- Ya’ll know how much I adore face masks!! On the reg, I do a mask once a week or so and I’ll usually stick to what works for me (moisture, balancing, calming for redness). But urgent times calls for urgent face masks and my go to for acne masks is Lush fresh face masks. I get the Cosmetic Warrior or Don’t Look At Me ones since they have active ingredients specifically to help fight problem areas.

  2. Use something for scarring- you want to take care of the problem area but, also remember the after math! A new product I’ve been hooked on it Cocokind’s Turmeric stick. I constantly put it on. It helps soothe the redness and inflammation as well as helps scarring! My problem areas always leave dark spots for weeks after so I was AMAZED that the Turmeric helped so much. I seriously will never not use this product now.

  3. ALWAYS WASH OFF YOUR MAKEUP BEFORE BED! I seriously cannot stress this enough… leaving your makeup on while you sleep clogs your pores and will just irritate your skin even more. Give your face a rest and maybe even go a day or two without any makeup, you’ll immediately see a difference. I stopped using makeup wipes and that was a huge game changer for me. I love DHC's deep cleansing oil- my go to for makeup removal.

I buy my stick at Whole foods!
