Since my birthday is this weekend, let’s talk about what items I love to splurge on! No one wants to buy something just to have it be destroyed within months, forcing a repurchase. After adding up all of those rebuys, you probably spent more than if you initially invested in better quality rather than the f21 dupe (but there’s NO, I repeat, NO SHAME in dupes!!). I rarely splurge so when I do, I save it for certain things and want to share them with you guys!

Jewelry

If you’ve followed me since the beginning or even from a week ago, you probably know that I can’t live without my gold jewelry, especially my gold hoops! Ever since I was little, I’ve been a little sensitive to fake jewelry so I have to be careful with what I get. I try to keep my everyday jewelry real gold or at least gold plated so it doesn’t irritate me and I can keep it on while I shower or sleep. Just like denim though, I love having options so I’ll always have some fun, inexpensive costume jewelry to mix in.

JEANS

If you asked me a couple of years ago about any of my jeans, I’d most likely tell you they’re from Zara. I didn’t think designer jeans were really worth it… until I owned a pair of actual good denim! The difference is apparent in the fit, the wear, and longevity. Don’t get me wrong, I still own many non designer jeans and they’re in heavy rotation but, I make sure to always have a few good pairs on hand.

Current favorite brands for solid jeans are: AGOLDE (prob my fave!), Pistola, Boyish, and good ol’ Levis

Shoes

This is probably where my biggest splurges are spent on because I found myself repurchasing shoes SO often and spending so much more than I anticipated. I need sturdy shoes that hold up at least a year or two (preferably longer!) and that I can wear for a few hours without blood seeping through my socks, ew and ouch. Last year was the first time I treated myself to pricer designer boots that I’ve eyed for a hot sec and I’ve yet to regret the purchase! Shoes can make or break a look so it’s important for me to have quality shoes that hold up!

These splurges are few and far in between but when I finally save enough to jump on something, it brings me so much joy! I'm really trying to stick to quality over quantity- for myself, my wallet, and the environment! Not only does it help small business owners but it helps reduce your eco footprint which is a win win in my book.

This is a fun one because nothing makes me happier than good quality products that keep my wallet happy. I don't wear a ton of makeup so I'm usually not in the mood to drop bills on new things. I rely on what I know works and I'm here to share a few of my holy grail products that can be scooped up at any corner drugstore.

​concealer

A cult favorite for concealers and rightfully so! This is a good, buildable dark circle eraser. Never looks cakey but gets the job done! 

Lash Sensational mascara

This is my holy grail, hero mascara! I’ve tried (and like) more expensive ones but nothing compares to this one! It gives me not only length but volume and has never bled, even on the craziest, rainiest days! 

Baby lips


​I've been a baby lips fan since high school! I love how it goes on, how it stays on, and how it feels while it's on. It makes me lips look full and super soft. 

I've used all of these items over the years and have always been reliable! Best part, all of these are under $10 which is my type of product. Tried any of these or have any go to drug store items?

For this Feb Faves post, I want to talk about bralettes and how they grew on me! As a member of the itty bitty titty committee, bralettes were not my favorite and truthfully, they weren’t even on my radar. I had one, maybe two for lounging around or road trips but you wouldn’t catch me wearing one on the regular. They were either too flimsy, uncomfortable, or didn’t have enough support (aka padding for my mosquito bites).

I’ll admit, I wasn’t 100% confident in my small ladies up until recently, hence always needing a bra with padding. Nowadays, I’m finding and indulging in the fun of a flat chest! After searching and trying a few different ones, I want to share my all time favorite ones that work not only for small boobs but for all shapes and sizes!!

True and Co

San Francisco based and woman ran, True and Co makes my favorite bras! They're so comfortable and give a great shape! 

White Rabbit

Ethically made out of the softest bamboo fabric, White Rabbits bras don't even feel like you have one on! Not to mention, the cutest lace detail! 

Proclaim

Proclaim takes a beautiful and much needed stance on the color nude. They carry multiple shades and gorgeous designs. I also use this for yoga classes and love!

So here's the deal, every Friday in February I’m going to share a new list of my favs. It’ll cover all the basics from fashion to beauty.

To kick it off, I’m going to share my favorite layering turtle necks and where I get them. It’s full on winter and layering is not only smart but look so chic. Let’s be honest, I’m here for any fashion trick or trend that keeps this Florida girl warm!


Staying warm is my first priority because shivering isn't cute. Nothing keeps me cozier than layering, especially with a turtleneck. I feel so put together, even when I'm probably running late. It's important to make sure they're thin enough to wear under other pieces without bunching up. Above are my favorite ones to layer with and the Uniqlo Heat tech one is the warmest option.
